OptiBond™ Solo Plus (by Kerr) is a 5th-generation, single-component total-etch (etch-and-rinse) dental adhesive system. Unlike traditional multi-step systems, it combines the primer and adhesive resin into a single bottle, significantly simplifying the direct bonding workflow.

Properties

• Loaded with Kerr’s signature 0.4 μm barium glass filler. This structural loading reinforces the dentin tubules at greater depths and creates a durable hybrid layer that protects against microleakage.
• Uses ethanol as the primary solvent carrier. It is much less technique-sensitive than acetone-based options, allowing deep penetration into the hybrid zone even if the dentin is slightly over-dried.
• Highly reliable for all direct composite restorations, composite-to-porcelain repairs, and amalgam sealing.
• The glass-filled formula improves clinical visibility on X-rays, making it easier to distinguish the adhesive line from secondary decay.
